The Bermuda Police Service ( BPS ) today identify the island’s sixth road traffic fatality victim for the year as, 38-year-old Filipino guest worker, Jerry Colantes.
Mr. Colantes was involved in a single vehicle collision which took place shortly before 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, 10th June
He was reportedly riding a motorcycle east on North Shore Road, Devonshire, just east of the junction with Dock Hill, when he lost control of the bike and collided with a wall. He was thrown over the wall on impact and down an embankment.
He sustained a serious head injury and was attended to at the scene by EMTs before being transported by ambulance to King Edward Hospital, where he pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The female injured in that serious road traffic collision which occurred in Southampton yesterday, Sunday, June 11th, sadly, has succumbed to her injuries.
The collision occurred shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Middle Road just west of Evans Bay.
The woman, 46-year-old Angela Meyer, was the pillion passenger on a livery cycle ridden by her 47- year-old husband.
The couple who were visiting from Canada, were traveling in the westbound lane when the rider lost control of the cycle and crossed into the path of a motorcar traveling in the eastbound lane and the two vehicles collided.
The visiting couple were transported by ambulance to King Edward Hospital where Mrs. Meyer was pronounced dead, a short time later. Her husband was attended to for his injuries and discharged.
This marks the island’s seventh road fatality this year.
None of the occupants of the motorcar were injured.
