D.O.E Urges Community to Attend the Spring into the Arts Festival Showcases

As May approaches, the Department of Education reminds the public of the upcoming performing arts showcases of the annual Spring into the Arts Festival, themed “Stepping Forward: No Limitations.”

This year’s festival is particularly noteworthy as we join school communities around the globe in celebrating the UNESCO-designated International Arts Education Week from May 20 to May 26.

Spring into the Arts 2024 not only celebrates the limitless potential of arts education but also provides a platform for students from 30 public and private schools to exhibit their talents.

The festival includes a series of highly anticipated events:

Performing Arts Showcases Schedule:

– Senior Schools Showcase: May 2nd, 2024, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

– Central Family of Schools Showcase: May 9th, 2024, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

– East Family of Schools Showcase: May 16th, 2024, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

– West Family of Schools Showcase: May 30th, 2024, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Location: Ruth Seaton James Center for the Performing Arts at CedarBridge Academy.

Admission for these events is only $5, available at the door, and $25 patron tickets, offering VIP benefits, can be purchased in advance through GPass.bm.

Each showcase promises an unforgettable evening filled with musical, dance, and theatrical performances. With tributes to local performing artists and each night hosted by a different MC, these events promise to be unique celebrations of creativity and community spirit.

Mrs. Kalmar Richards, Commissioner of Education, states, “As we approach the International Arts Education Week, our festival’s showcases are set to be the highlight of our celebrations. I invite everyone in the community to join us, support our young artists, and witness the extraordinary capabilities of our students.”

All proceeds from admissions and raffle sales will be reinvested into arts programs and resources at participating schools. Attendees can also enjoy a variety of food and drink options, with proceeds further supporting educational programming.
