Mr Terryn Fray will lead our team, Somerset Cricket Club, to compete for the Coveted Cup Match cup on August 1 & 2, 2024 at 6 Cricket Lane in Somerset.
Before, going any further… I extend condolences and prayers of GOD’s comfort and peace, on behalf of the Officers and Members of Somerset Cricket Club, to all families, friends and loved ones impacted by the tragic recent events in our community. Although, this may be an incident that doesn’t directly impact all of us, we as a community, have a responsibility to reflect inward and pause because tomorrow it could be any of us in this predicament. GOD Bless the families and loved ones and GOD Bless our island.
In approximately 24 days, SCC, the holders, will be led by Mr Terryn Fray, who has taken over as Captain from Mr Jordan Desilva. Terryn has served as Vice-Captain for a number of years, and has proven his leadership pedigree on more than one occasion, so the decision for him to take over from Jordan was not difficult at all.
The Cricket Council-Chairs of Mr Michael Corday and Mr Norbert Simons in consultation with Coaches Jeff Richardson and Janeiro Tucker, recommended Terryn to succeed Jordan and it was a simple decision of ratification by the SCC Executive & Management Committee.
We are in full support of Terryn’s abilities to lead in the plethora of situations that come with the responsibility of being the SCC Cup Match Captain. Cup Match, being Bermuda’s Premier sporting event, is indeed more than the on-the-field responsibility. This position requires a multitude of public appearances and interviews and we are confident (and it’s been proven) that Terryn can handle the role of SCC Cup Match Captain, with candor and professionalism.
We extend our very best to Terryn and look forward to the continued success over the past years with Terryn at the helm as SCC Cup Match Captain.
