Somerset Cricket Club entertainment committee held its Pre-Mothers Day Hat and Tea show at the SCC yesterday, inviting area schools students to be a part of the event.
Lagoon Park pre-school, Somerset Primary, West End Primary and Delton E. Tucker Primary Schools students all took part of the show.
TNN News reporter spoke with events committee co-chair Nicole Saunders
“We saw some creative designed old fashion hats that the students made in school or at home, we also had several seniors participants in the creative art work as well said Ms. Saunders”.
Ms. Saunders stated ,” Back in the day having a tea party was a big deal that’s what they did”. So with Mother’s Day coming up this Sunday we didn’t honor anyone in particular, but we did recognized the oldest mother in attendance who just happened to be Ms. Sally Perinchief who will be 90 years old this September. It us understood Ms. Sally is known for creating hats and arts and crafts.
I would like to recognize all the Mothers and parents in this Somerset community, wishing them a Happy Mother Day, coming from the Executive Committee of SCC, and on the behalf of President Richard Scott who apologies for not being able to make the event.
