Green Family Supports the Celebrations of the 175th Portuguese Emigration

The Green Family is pleased to announce a donation of $5,000 toward the Celebrations of the 175th Anniversary of Portuguese Emigration to Bermuda.

The Celebrations will honour all Portuguese/Bermudian history, heritage and culture, and celebrate all those who ventured to Bermuda, as well as their descendants. A full range of activities are planned, including exhibitions, cultural events, educational programs, and legacy projects.

Andrew Green said: “Preserving and celebrating Bermuda’s heritage is very important to the
fabric of our community. We are pleased to be able to contribute to what will be a fantastic
line-up of activities to celebrate a historic milestone in Portuguese history in Bermuda.”
Maj. (Ret.) William Madeiros, Head of Fundraising for the 175th Anniversary
Commemorations Committee, said: “We are honoured to have the support of the Green
Family for this year’s event. Donations from supporters like The Greens, are vital in helping
the Committee to execute the upcoming events.

“The 175th Anniversary is a momentous occasion. As we pay homage to the incredible
journey of the Portuguese community, we hope to strengthen community bonds and create
a lasting legacy.”

The Celebrations of the 175th Anniversary of Portuguese Emigration to Bermuda will occur
later this year. Further updates for the event will be announced soon.
