Drugs and Firearms charges top Supreme Court monthly arraignment session

A man charged with firearm and ammunition offenses, in Supreme Court Monthly arraignment session today plead not guilty to the two charges.

Twenty nine year old Jahni Holder appeared before Chief Justice the Honorable Larry Mussenden this morning facing firearm and ammunition charges.

Holder was charged for being in possession of a Smith and Wesson 9 mm firearm. He faces another charge of being in possession of twelve rounds of 9 mm ammunition, while not having a valid license.

The offences are alleged to have occurred on or about the 4th day of March, 2024

Crown Counsel Carrington Mahoney objected to bail being granted as the accused was currently out on bail in connection with a separate Supreme Court matter.

Holder was represented by attorney Vaughon Caines holding for Charles Richardson.

Chief Justice Mussenden revoked Holders bail and remanded him into custody at Westgate Correctional Facility.

His next appearance is scheduled for the May 1, 2024 monthly arraignments

• Also appearing in Supreme Court monthly arraignment session today was Statysa Hewitt Patterson a foreign national charged with three drug related offenses.

The woman plead no guilty to (1) Importation of a controlled Drug namely Cannabis into the Islands of Bermuda.

(2) Importation of a controlled drug namely Cocaine into the Islands of Bermuda.

(3) Importation of a controlled drug namely Herion into the Islands of Bermuda.

The woman was remanded into custody and will reappear on May 1 2024 monthly arraignment session.

Patterson was represented by attorney Vaughon Caines holding for Charles Richardson.
