Two people appeared in Magistrates Court yesterday charged with child neglect, unlawful assault and mistreating children offenses.
36-year-old Anthany Steede of Southampton and 35-year-old Damon Morris of Paget, plead not guilty to the nine combined charges.
Anthany Steede faced five charges including; neglecting a child by leaving her home alone, mistreating the child, by chasing her with a knife
two counts of neglecting the child by leaving her home without supervision and
unlawfully assaulting a child.
Damon Morris is charged with unlawfully assaulting a child, mistreating a child by telling her he would body slam her in her sleep, unlawfully assaulting a child
and mistreating a child by telling her, he would pop off the child and her father.
Both Morris and Steede were bailed in the sum of $10 thousand dollars with a like surety.
They were ordered not to contact any witnesses and must inform the authorities before leaving the jurisdiction.
The two accused return to court on May 17, 2024.
