DAILY MALE ‘FREE’ MEN’S HEALTH CLINIC MOVES TO ST GEORGE’S ON SATURDAY

After a well attended and highly successful grand opening at the Bermuda Industrial Union (BIU) last month, the Daily Male Men’s Health Clinic continues this weekend, with another free offering of health services to males 60-years and older at St George’s Cricket Club on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

After the initial instalment of the Daily Male was able to cater well beyond the stated limit of 25 men – 40 men were actually tested – the capacity to test has been increased to double that amount (50) this time around, with the waiting time for results of the administered Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test reduced due to the recent procurement of a second testing machine.

Additionally, discussions are under-way with Government and the donor community regarding the potential acquisition and retrofit of a bus, that would allow for Daily Male to offer mobile services and even more so achieve the goal of ‘taking healthcare to the streets’.

In its offer of free testing for prostate cancer and cardiovascular disease Daily Male has an aim of identifying the percentage of high-risk men that will need to be assessed for the early diagnostics and treatment of the aforementioned health conditions.
Such testing can serve to prevent the spiralling costs of managing metastatic prostate cancer and improve the awareness for prostate and cardiovascular health among men in Bermuda.

Daily male is staffed by a team of more than 60 volunteers and high grade clinical professionals, with client confidentiality a key ingredient of the process.

Additionally, clients will receive gift packages and free haircut coupons for use at participating barber shops [Millenium Barber Shop, Hamilton, One Stop Barbershop, St. George’s and Faderz Barber Shop, Somerset] as add-on benefits to participation.

Beyond this weekend’s event at St George’s Cricket Club, the Daily Male is scheduled to provide further screenings at Somerset Cricket Club [April 1st 2023]; Warwick Workmen’s Club [May 6th 2023]; Baileys Bay Cricket Club [June 3rd 2023]; and Pembroke Hamilton Club [July 1st 2023].
