Creative Stakeholders Meet for the 3rd Annual Eggnog & Dialogue Celebration

The Department of Culture hosted its 3rd AnnualEggnog & Dialogue Stakeholders Holiday Celebration last evening at the historic Leopard’s Club, bringing together Bermuda’s vibrant creative community for an evening of celebration, connection, and appreciation.

 

The event began with an intimate gathering of stakeholders who reflected on another successful year for Bermuda’s cultural and creative industries, then transitioned into a publicCreatives Live performance featuring the soulful Joy T. Barnum and her band Since Last Wednesday.

 

The Hon. Owen Darrell, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport shared his gratitude for Bermuda’s creatives and tradition bearers, highlighting their contributions to a year of cultural milestones. “Your contributions breathe life into our culture, and we couldn’t do it without you,” Minister Darrell said. He commended the record-breaking participation in this year’s Bermuda Day Parade, the award-winning Cultural Apprenticeship Programme, and the triumphant return of the Gombey Festival. Minister Darrell also noted the upcoming Makerspace initiative, designed to inspire even more creativity and collaboration in Bermuda.

 

A special moment in the evening was reserved for Dr. Kim Dismont-Robinson, Director of Culture, who is leaving the Department after nearly two decades of service. Minister Darrell praised her dedication to Bermuda’s culture and her instrumental role in shaping the Department’s success. “Dr. Dismont-Robinson, your legacy speaks for itself. We thank you for your hard work and commitment to Bermuda’s culture and creatives over the last 19 years. On behalf of the Bermuda Government and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport, we wish you nothing but the best in your next chapter.”

 

The Ministry also extended its thanks to all creatives and stakeholders who make Bermuda’s culture dynamic and vibrant.
