At approximately 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025, police and other first responders were dispatched to a serious road traffic collision involving two motorcars, near the junction of South Road and Church Road, Southampton.
Upon arrival, officers were informed the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided head-on.
The drivers, both female, sustained head injuries and were attended to at the scene by Emergency Medical Services personnel, before being transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
One of the drivers became trapped inside her vehicle and had to be extricated by Bermuda Fire and Rescue Services.
The roadway remained closed to vehicular traffic while the scene was forensically processed, but has since been reopened.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution when going through the area, as despite efforts to clear the road surface of oil, it may still be somewhat slick.
