A 36 year old man appeared in Magistrates’ Court, facing eight charges involving theft, trespassing, and possession of a bladed weapon.
Ahmad Muhammad was charged with the following:
Between July 14th and July 17th, Muhammad entered Scholars Bermuda, where he stole a metal safe valued at $500 and $180 in cash.
•Between July 17th and July 18th, Muhammad broke into Customs Mechanic and stole over $2,000 in cash.
•On July 20th, Muhammad trespassed into Gillian’s Salon where he stole more than $300 in cash.
•On or around July 21st, Muhammad targeted Rayclan Limited, making off with $2,256.50 in cash.
•Between July 23rd and July 24th, Muhammad returned to Rayclan Limited stealing an additional $5,150 in cash.
•On August 8th, Muhammad entered Collectors Hill Apothecary, stealing various items including cigarettes, soap, deodorant, and beverages. The total value of the stolen items was not specified in court.
•On August 9th, Muhammad entered as a trespasser into Chapter One – Once Upon a Time Nursery, with intent to steal.
•On the same day, August 9th, Muhammad was found in a public place, carrying a fixed-blade knife with a cutting edge of 4.5 inches, without lawful reason.
Muhammad pled guilty to all charges. Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered a social inquiry report to be conducted before sentencing. Given the severity and pattern of the offenses, Muhammad was remanded into custody pending the report’s completion and subsequent sentencing.
