Everyone needs a helping hand once and a while. After suddenly losing her brother last year, Tina Bremar got an urge to do more for her community and for Bermuda on a whole, especially during this season of giving. Thus, she founded the “Helping Our Own First” Organizational group.
“ I decided to give back to the people of my Community,” she explained. “ I then reached out to all my friends and family and asked them if they would like to help me start this pursuit. They all came on board and were happy and excited to help out.”
So far, the public has been very receptive and generous towards the organization, which aims to provide the recipient of our gift vouchers during this Christmas season.
“ Every person whom we donate to will receive a turkey or chicken, a box of macaroni, a box of rice, a bag of potatoes, some vegetables, stuffing, gravy and homemade cookies and a loaf of gingerbread, both made by myself,” Ms. Bremar said. “ That way, they will have a little dessert too.”
We would like to thank anonymous donors who has provided non perishable items to assist in the cause. Former Premier and Shadow Minister of National Security Michael Dunkley, JP, MP, has provided the organization with various turkey vouchers.
“Helping Our Own First” would like to sincerely thank Mr. Dunkley for his donations and Ms. Bremar hopes that they receive more blessings from more people within the community.
