According to two parents, their son was threatened at school by a female classmate with a knife on Tuesday, October 19 at Victor Scott Primary School.
Despite the incident occurring at around 1:30, the parents were not notified by the school until the end of the day at 3:30, when they came to pick up their son.
“ We are trying to have a meeting with the teacher, but she’s been trying to blow it off due to COVID restrictions,” the student’s father said. “We did receive a call from the teacher later on in the day, but by that time, we were pissed because the principal should have called us as soon as it happened.”
According to the father, the young lady who threatened his son has been suspended from school for a few days, but that is not good enough in his view. He believes that if the roles had been reversed and his son threatened her with a knife, he would have surely been expelled.
He wrote a letter to the Commissioner of Education Kalmar Richards, but still hadn’t received any sort of response back on her findings of the investigation.
