Popular Nursery Closure Sparks Outrage Among Parents

Parents of children attending Seasons Learning Center Nursery on South Road in Smith’s Parish are expressing frustration and disappointment over the announcement of the nursery’s closure.

According to a letter sent to families on December 6, 2024, the facility will shut its doors permanently on December 31, leaving many scrambling for childcare solutions during an already hectic holiday season.

The letter, signed by the nursery’s management, provided parents with details of alternative childcare options located on Glebe Road and South Shore Road. However, parents say the suggested alternatives are insufficient to address their immediate concerns.

“Why couldn’t they wait until the term was over or at least until the next one started?” questioned one parent, adding that the timing of the closure—during Christmas and New Year’s—makes the situation even more stressful.

TNN News spokes to, the head teacher of Season’s Learning Center Nursery, for clarification on the sudden decision, but no response has been received as of this publication.

Parents argue that the closure is particularly disruptive, with many needing reliable childcare to manage their work schedules during the festive period. One parent shared, “I don’t know how I’m supposed to make this work. This isn’t just about finding another nursery; it’s about the trust we’ve built with the staff at St. Mark’s and the adjustment our kids now have to face.”

As this story develops, TNN News will continue to seek answers from the nursery’s leadership and explore the reasons behind the abrupt closure. Stay tuned for updates.

Below is the complete email sent to all parents at the facility.

After much contemplation, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close the St.
Marks location, effective December 31,2024.

After many years of providing quality care to so many wonderful children, we feel truly fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve you and your little ones. However, with the rising costs of operation and low enrollment, we have found it increasingly difficult to continue.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for entrusting us with your precious children over the years. It has been an honor and a pleasure to be a part of their lives and to watch them grow. Your little pumpkins will always hold a special place in our hearts.

For your convenience, we have compiled a list of other nursery options in the area that have available spaces. Please see the suggestions below:

1. Little Scholars Academy- 38 Glebe Road, Pembroke-441-543-1572
2. B.O.O.K Daycare- 155 South Road, Smith’s HS11- 441-777-1695-

Thank you again for your trust, support, and understanding during this transition. Should you have any questions or need assistance during this time, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Warm regards, Joelle Williams Seasons Learning Center Nursery
