Shortly before midnight on Friday, August 4th, police received reports that a 46-year-old male had disappeared under water in Castle Harbour, near Frick’s Point and Castle Island.
The male was said to have been in chest-deep water wading from one group of boats to another, which were part of a raft-up when he went under.
Other boaters in the area were alerted and several persons responded to assist. The Coast Guard was also contacted and attended the scene.
The man’s lifeless body was recovered shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5th, in waters in the area of Frick Point, Tucker’s Point, St. George’s.
Death was subsequently confirmed by an on call physician.
Foul play is not suspected.
