Police continue investigation into road traffic collision in Warwick

Around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18th, 2024, police were dispatched to a Road Traffic Collision involving two motorcars and a pedestrian on South Road near the junction with Dunscombe Road, Warwick.

Upon arrival, officers ascertained that a motorcar traveling east on South Road was in collision with a motorcycle headed in the opposite direction.

The impact caused the motorcycle to travel a distance and onto an embankment which is attached to the westbound lane where a pedestrian was walking.

The pedestrian attempted to avoid the collision and was injured after he tumbled and fell. He was not struck by any of the vehicles.

The motorcycle rider was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH), via ambulance while the other motorcar driver and the pedestrian were transported to KEMH via separate private vehicles.

None of the injuries sustained were considered life threatening.

There were extensive delays while the scene was processed, with traffic being diverted onto Warwick Lane and Dunscome Road.
