Earlier reports had indicated that it was a teenager who tragically lose her life in a drowning incident at Horseshoe Bay.
TNN elected to double check the report and determined that it was in fact a 57 year old woman. The full details are included in the BPS response as attached.
Shortly after 3pm on Saturday 20th of August, Police and other first responders were dispatched to a report of a medical emergency at the Horseshoe Bay Beach in Warwick.
Upon police arrival, it was ascertained that at 57-Yr-Old female visitor, had been pulled from shallow waters by on duty lifeguards, in an unresponsive state. Despite lifesaving efforts commenced at the scene, she was subsequently pronounced dead on arrival at King Edward Memorial Hospital.
An autopsy is anticipated to determine the cause of death.
No further information will be provided until the next of kin has been informed.
