Word coming in to TNN that the full opening Bermudas first two parish primary schools is to be delayed beyond the schedule September 11th opening date.
Reliable sources have suggested to TNN that Purvis Primary will be challenges with all classes, however it has been suggested that a contingency plan is in place and a statement regarding such plans will be released soon by Minister of Education Diallo Rabain.
TNN also understands that the Francis Patton Primary School will only be able to accommodate the P1s and P2s on site for the start of the school year, with the rest of the classes being house at the Bermuda Aquarium Museum & Zoo.
It was further noted by the source that the Ministry of Education has an agreement with the aquarium to hold classes at the Flats establishment until October, however TNN was made to understand that such may be overly optimistic and students may have to attend there for the entire Fall term, through until January.
As stated, it is expected that a press conference will be held sometime soon in order to bring this information to the public.
According to a source with intimate knowledge of the work being carried out at these educational facilities parents are very much disappointed at the news that their children will not be placed in the best possible environment for learning.
TNN News sought a response from the Ministry of Education on these development.
