NSC North Field closed for World Rugby Classic

The North Field and Pavilion at the National Sports Centre will be closed from Monday 1 November to Wednesday 17 November 2021, as it hosts the return of The World Rugby Classic.

Therefore, walkers, joggers and all other recreational users will not have access to the 600m track, outdoor gym and surrounding grassy areas during that time.

The Covid-19 pandemic has interrupted a number of entertainment and sporting events world-wide, including Bermuda, since early 2020 and The World Rugby Classic was last held at the National Sports Centre in November 2019.

This year’s event will feature Canada, Italy, France and the Classic Lions, who will each vie for crowning glory.

Craig Tyrrell, the NSC SVP Operations Manager, said: “We are delighted to see the return of the World Rugby Classic, but it does mean that, for a short time while we prepare for and during the tournament, the North Field will have to be closed to our recreational users. We do apologise for any inconvenience, but look forward to their return after the event.”
