Mrs. Muir’s Urges People To Buy Bermuda

Glenmore Russell has been running Mrs. Muir’s All Natural Juices and Punch for over 30 years. Her stand is set up near Barnes Corner in Southampton and she sells everything from pineapples and mangoes to carrots and tomatoes, to name just a few.

“ I am the only female selling my produce on the side of the road, so come on out and see everything that we have to offer and put out there for Bermudians . . . come and buy Bermuda,” Ms. Russell said.

In addition to produce, she also sells homemade kiwi, strawberry and pineapple juices, as well as seamoss juices with strawberry, okra and even potatoes.

“ A lot of people do not like the [seamoss and okra juice ], because they say that okra has a flail spell, but it is very good for you,” Ms. Russell said. “ I also have soursop, which I get from Tucker’s Town or Point Shares, but the majority of fruit that I put in my juices are Bermudian fruits.”

The only thing that Ms. Russell never really uses in her juices is added sugar, as she prefers to sell people natural and healthier ingredients.

People can catch her almost every day from 9 a.m until sundown, when most local farmers have gone home for the day. Now that it is summertime, though, Ms. Russel stays open a little later to make sure that everyone who wishes to buy her fresh and all-natural products can do so.
