Disgruntled parents and community groups, up in arms over the process used by the Minister of Education Diallo Raban and Education Commissioner Kalmar Richards to devise much of the education reforms, have received ammunition to help their protest causes.
Anonymous persons, inside the Ministry, have disclosed confidential material on social media, seemingly showing key personnel with the reform team, deliberately plotting to with-hold vital information from the PTA groups and parents.
The video recording, obtained by TNN from Social media, seems to depict a deliberate lack of transparency in the process, and major conflict of interest by Commissioner Kalmar Richards.
We understand the zoom meeting with the Minister and key personnel was recorded in April 2022 at least a year ago.
The groups have maintained all along that the Ministry has with-held information used by decision makers to close certain schools, and believe the entire reform process needs to undergo a review as further protests across the island are planned.
TNN understands that the groups have been seeking a meeting with the Premier to discuss a way forward.
