Hurricane Franklin is moving away from Bermuda

As of the 6.00 p.m. Bermuda Weather Service update regarding Hurricane Franklin, the public is advised that Hurricane Franklin is moving away from the island.

However, the Ministry of National Security is reminding that safety is key.

It’s important to note that currently, Bermuda remains under a Tropical Storm Warning and will still be experiencing tropical storm force winds until the early hours of Thursday morning.

The community is encouraged to continue heeding the safety guidance that is being shared by official Government advisories.

Additionally, those who are commuting this evening are encouraged to use extreme caution when moving around on the island’s roads.

At this time, the Ministry of National Security takes this opportunity to thank the public for their cooperation as we navigated the impact of Hurricane Franklin.

The Ministry now turns its attention to Tropical Storm Idalia. The next Bermuda Weather Service update will be at 9.00 pm. To stay abreast of all weather updates, visit weather.bm.
