Historic Nomination Day Concludes with Major Twists and Record Candidate Turnout

In a stunning development on nomination day, TNN has confirmed that Glenn Tucker has been replaced by Sophia Cannonier as the One Bermuda Alliance (OBA) candidate.

The unexpected last-minute switch adds yet another dramatic turn to what is shaping up to be a historic and highly competitive election season.

As the nomination period officially closed, the Progressive Labour Party (PLP) confirmed the registration of 36 candidates, while the Free Democratic Movement (FDM) the fielded 10 contenders. The One Bermuda Alliance (OBA) also fielded 36 candidates to contest the upcoming election. The independent movement made a significant statement, with 25 candidates stepping forward marking a record-breaking level of independent participation.

Political analysts are already calling this a history-making event, with the sheer number of candidates suggesting a seismic shift in Bermudas political landscape. The overwhelming turnout underscores a growing appetite for diverse representation and signals that voters may be ready for a more dynamic political discourse.
