Hamilton Princess & Beach Club Welcomes Tah-mi Williams & Jaquan Burrows To Its Leadership Team

Hamilton Princess & Beach Club is pleased to announce that its
Leadership Development Program (LDP) has produced two new Bermudian managers to join its Leadership
Team.

Tah-mi Williams and Jaquan Burrows, both 26 years old, completed the hotel’s intense 18-month long program, as of May 5th. Mr. Williams, who rotated through numerous Food & Beverage and Culinary divisions of the hotel, has been
appointed Assistant Maître D’ of the hotel’s 16O9 Restaurant & Marina Bar.

Jaquan Burrows, the hotel’s Rooms Division candidate, spent time with each team that contributes to the success of guest accommodations, and learning the ropes of every aspect of management. He has been appointed the Housekeeping Manager within the Housekeeping & Rooms Division.

Tim Morrison, General Manager, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, said: “We support the importance of
Bermuda’s Hospitality industry and an awareness of Tourism and Hospitality careers. With our own Tah-mi
Williams and Jaquan Burrows successfully completing the hotel’s program, both are firmly set on the path to the next level of leadership at the hotel.”

Acting Minister of Economy and Labour, Senator Owen Darrell, said, “I want to thank Tim Morrison and the team here at Hamilton Princess for your commitment to hiring, training, and advancing Bermudians within your organization. I also congratulate Tah-Mi Williams and Jaquan Burrows for their perseverance and dedication towards completing the hotel’s intense 18-month training programme. You inspire your peers and should be incredibly proud of your accomplishments.”

Minister of Tourism and the Cabinet Office, Vance Campbell, said, “I would like to express my sincere
appreciation to the owners and management of the Hamilton Princess for investing in the development and
training of young Bermudians. I am extremely pleased to see two young Bermudians taking such an active
interest in the industry and pursuing their ambitions for leadership roles therein. Tah-Mi and Jaquan have
very promising careers in the tourism industry, and I wish them all the very best in their endeavours.”

Tah-mi Williams is a graduate of the University of Salford’s Business School, with an Associate’s degree in
hospitality and a Bachelor’s degree in tourism with business. He is a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA),
he previously worked for the Bermuda Tourism Authority at their Visitor Service Centre, and has local and
international hotel experience. He will report to Shawn Lekki, Director of Food & Beverage, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.

Mr. Lekki said: “Tah-mi has gained an in-depth knowledge in our Purchasing, Stewarding, Culinary, Banqueting, Beach Club and Food & Beverage venues. We believe Tah-mi has all the right skills and qualities to assist in the management of 16O9. We are excited to continue supporting and growing him within the
Food and Beverage Department.”
Jaquan Burrows holds a certificate in International Hospitality Management from Holland College, he is also
a Certified Tourism Ambassador, and his previous work experience includes a supervisory role in Housekeeping at another Bermuda property. He will report to Andre Binns, Director of Housekeeping, at the hotel.

Mr. Binns said: “Jaquan flourished in Housekeeping and Laundry: the backbone of the hotel’s rooms
offering. He assisted the department in the day-to-day operations of the department, learned scheduling,
budgeting and line items, and followed the most stringent of cleaning standards to ensure that guests get the
most out of their room experience.”
Jaquan mentioned that out of all the areas that he rotated among Front Office, Night Audit, Bell Services,
Concierge, Royal Service, and Fairmont Gold, he enjoyed Housekeeping the most. He was able to learn skills outside of his comfort zone and it inspired him to enroll in various online accounting courses to bolster his confidence in department budgeting.

“The program has been a great experience – there was no better place for me to learn, said Mr. Burrows. “It’s
important for young Bermudians like me to seize opportunities wherever they present themselves. You never
know where they might lead!”
Tah-mi Williams agrees. He said: “The program has really paid out in benefits. It was definitely rigorous, and
I was challenged in ways that helped me to grow my career and personally.

You must love hospitality, and
I’ve loved it since I was 19 years old. The return on engaging with guests and sharing a piece of Bermuda with
the guests is priceless.”
