Five Men Plead Not Guilty to Firearm, Ammunition, and Drug Charges in Supreme Court

In yesterday’s  February arraignment session, five men appeared before Justice Juan Wolf, facing multiple charges related to firearms, ammunition, and drug importation. The defendants, ranging in age from 32 to 56, all entered not guilty pleas.

Firearm and Ammunition Importation Charges

Kendrick Christopher, Johnny Alexander, and Terrence Smith were formally charged with the unlawful importation of a prohibited firearm, specifically a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol. The alleged offense occurred on or around November 9, 2023. The three men also face charges for unlawfully importing seven rounds of 9mm ammunition without a license. Additionally, they were charged with possession of the same prohibited firearm.

Possession and Drug Importation Charges

Terrence Smith, Kevin DeRosa, and Ramar Simmons were also charged with possession of a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol and possession of ammunition. On a separate count, the trio was accused of conspiring to import controlled drugs into Bermuda during the same time frame. They were further charged with possession of a controlled drug, identified as cannabis resin, with intent to supply.

During the hearing, it was revealed that Kevin DeRosa and Ramar Simmons were released on bail, while Kendrick Christopher, Johnny Alexander, and Terrence Smith were remanded into custody.

• Trial Date Set

The trial date for the five defendants has been scheduled for October 6, 2025, in Court Number Four. Justice Juan Wolf emphasized the importance of a fair and efficient trial process.
