Education Ministry Principal Reshuffle Drama Show Begin

More education department drama with principal reshuffle on eve of school year
In a sudden, late twist ahead of the impending school year, the Ministry of Education has reallocated the principal of West End Primary, Trina Cariah, to an acting principal role at Dellwood Primary.

Cariah will be replaced, at least on a temporary basis, by her former deputy principal Nerissa Gilbert, whom the department said would occupy the position while a search is made for another acting principal.

Gilbert, while deputy, doubled as a classroom teacher, hence the continued search for someone to come inbin an acting capacity.

It is believed that Cariah will ultimately return to West End, where it was expected that she would be the one to assume the principal’s position at Somerset Primary when West End closed as part of the educational reform and restructuring.

Such has been thrown into flux following protests by the West End Warriors, with government reevaluating the decision to close the historic institution.

“I understand that this announcement may come as a surprise, however, it is a decision that was given careful consideration, ” read a statement from commissioner of education, Kalmar Richards. “During this transition, I asked that you extend your full support to Mrs Gilbert and to the acting principal who will follow.”
