Today, as men and MPs, we offer our tribute to a man of great spiritual and community leadership to parishioners of Christ Church and people of Devonshire. Canon Francis was a servant of the whole island, from the Cathedral on Pembroke to the Christ Church in the heart of Devonshire.
There, he opened the doors for the next generation of leadership and inspired increased community activism.
“Always the consummate provider of encouragement and advice. He appreciated the weight of service, leadership and responsibility and always offered us his support. While at Christ Church he was inclusive and welcoming. This was also reflective in the strong group of parishioners while he was there. He leaves a strong legacy in Devonshire and beyond. It is an honour to have met his acquaintance. Rest in Peace faithful servant.”

We find solace in the words of Scripture: “Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.”  We hold onto the blessed assurance that we will reunite with our dear brother in a place where parting is no more.
May we honour Canon Francis’s legacy by embodying the love and dedication he so generously shared, until we meet again on those golden streets.”
