Dennis Lister MP for Constituency 35, on the Sandys Apartment Fire

Today, we stand united in compassion and action as our community faces the devastating loss of homes in the early hours of Wednesday morning fire. Families have been displaced, and hearts are heavy, but together, we will rise from this tragedy.

We recently experienced a fire in my own family, so I completely understand the hardship and uncertainty that those impacted are feeling at this time and will be here for those who need me in any way I can be of service.

I thank the Bermuda Fire Service for their swift action and am grateful that no lives were lost. I pledge to work with our Government to ensure affected families receive the support they need. To those impacted, you are not alone—our community stands with you.”
