Police appeal for witnesses in weekend road traffic collisions

“Today, the Bermuda Police Service provided an update on the three serious road traffic collisions that occurred over the weekend. Below is the full statement.”


• PEMBROKE 

Around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, 13th July 2025, police and other first responders attended a single vehicle road traffic collision near the junction of Dock Hill and North Shore Road, Pembroke.

A male motorcycle rider was attempting to negotiate a corner when he lost control of the bike, collided with a nearby wall and was ejected from the motorcycle. He was in and out of consciousness and sustained multiple abrasions to his face and body.

He was attended to at the scene by EMTs from the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service, before being transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, for further treatment.

He subsequently discharged himself from the facility.

• SOUTHAMPTON 

Two female motorcar drivers injured in a collision which occurred around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, 13th July 2025, near the junction of South Road and Church Road, Southampton, have both had their injuries treated and have been discharged from hospital.

Their vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the collision occurred. One female had to be extricated from her vehicle by the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service. She was in and out of consciousness and sustained an injury to the chest.

The other female suffered a concussion, as well as bruises about the body.

Both vehicles were written off.

• ST. GEORGE’S 

Around 2:20 a.m. Saturday, 12th July 2025, police and other first responders were dispatched to a road traffic collision on Kindley Field Road, St. George’s. It was reported that a SUV was being driven west along the roadway, when it was struck from behind by a motorcycle carrying two males, headed in the same direction.

One of the males sustained a serious head injury and was in and out of consciousness. He was attended to at the scene by EMTs, before he was transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment. At last check, he was recovering on a general ward.

The second male was reportedly transported from the scene in a private vehicle. It remains unclear whether he was injured. It is also believed a second motorcycle may have been involved in this collision, based on forensic evidence recovered at the scene.

The driver and occupant of the SUV both sustained minor injuries.
