SHORTAGE OF GARBAGE TRUCKS DELAY COLLECTION

The Ministry of Public Works advises the public that there may be delays in garbage collection over the next two to three days due to a shortage of operational waste collection trucks.  The delays are a direct result of the challenges with securing critical parts due to supply chain issues and difficulty obtaining overseas specialist support.

Teams are working as swiftly as possible to return the vehicles to service.

Members of the public are encouraged to use the Tynes Bay public drop-off for the disposal of household waste, recycling, hazardous materials such as paints and pesticides, and bulky items.

Recycling will follow the 2022 Garbage and Recycling Schedule and be collected this week on Thursday in the West and on Friday in the East.
