Christian Dunleavy Appointed as New Chair of ABIC, Succeeding Patrick Tannock

The Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Dunleavy as its new Chair, succeeding Patrick Tannock.

Mr. Dunleavy, a highly regarded leader in Bermuda’s business community, brings over 25 years of experience in the Bermuda market. He currently serves as Group President of Aspen Insurance, CEO of Aspen Bermuda Ltd, and Director of Coralisle Group Ltd.

Mr. Tannock, the retired CEO of AXA XL’s Bermuda Insurance Operations, led ABIC for nine transformative years. His leadership was instrumental in reinforcing Bermuda’s status as a premier international business hub, advancing advocacy efforts, and driving and fostering greater diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
within Bermuda’s corporate landscape. ABIC extends its deep appreciation for his visionary leadership and invaluable contributions.

Reflecting on his time as Chair, Mr. Tannock said, “It has been a privilege to serve Bermuda’s international business and broader community over the past nine years. Together, we have worked hard to increase the awareness of Bermuda’s value proposition locally and abroad to ensure that Bermuda remains internationally competitive and a domicile of choice for international companies. I extend my heartfelt
congratulations to Christian, whose leadership will guide ABIC through its next phase of growth. He is an excellent choice, and I am confident that ABIC will continue to thrive under his stewardship.”

Mr. Dunleavy expressed his enthusiasm in building on the progress made during Patrick’s tenure. “I am honoured to chair ABIC at such an important time for Bermuda’s international business sector. The ABIC board and membership will continue to advocate for sensible approaches that protect and enhance
Bermuda’s competitiveness and reputation in an era of heightened global competition. Our international businesses provide opportunities and rewarding careers across many fields and industries, and we at ABIC intend to ensure that Bermudians continue to benefit from these direct and indirect economic and social
contributions. I would like to thank Patrick for his contribution to ABIC over a defining decade for insurance and Bermuda as an international business centre.”

ABIC remains committed to representing and supporting the interests of Bermuda’s international business sector, which plays a critical role in the island’s economy. ABIC looks forward to continuing its work in partnership with government, industry stakeholders, and the community to foster a thriving and inclusive
business environment.
