Chancery Lane closed to public access

The City of Hamilton is advising members of the public that, as of today (Monday January 29th), Chancery Lane will be closed to pedestrians due to construction works at 91 Front Street by a private contractor.

Access to Ruby Murry’s restaurant and adjacent businesses will be from the Reid Street entrance only during the demolition phase of the project; Chancery Lane will be sectioned off during this time.

The worksite will be fenced off at both ends and signage will be placed at both entrances informing pedestrians of the works and directing them to the temporary crossing at the Western end of the construction site which will assist pedestrians in crossing over to the Southern side of Front Street to avoid the worksite.

The construction firm will allow for and assist with retail deliveries from the Front Street entrance of Chancery Lane (deliveries only) to businesses on Chancery Lane during the demolition works.
