Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited (“BELCO”) today announced the winners of the annual Kite Safety Poster Campaign. The competition, now in its 35th year, was open to Primary 1 and Primary 2 students and more than 40 posters were received.
The best overall poster was awarded to five-year-old P1 student,Raelyn Robinson from Saltus Cavendish. The best kite safety message poster was awarded to seven-year-old P2 student, Antonia Walker from Somerset Primary School. The most beautiful poster was awarded to six-year-old P2 student, Anna Neururer from Harrington Sound Primary School.

BELCO’s annual Kite Safety Poster competition involves visits to classrooms by BELCO staff and the BELCO bird to discuss kite safety. The company is committed to fostering a culture of safety within our company, schools, and community.
Managing Director of Transmission Distribution & Retail Shelly Leman said: “This is our 35th year of the BELCO kite safety campaign and poster competition and it was wonderful to receive more than 40 fantastic posters from students across the island. As always, it was difficult to choose the winners! Kite safety is very important to remember during the annual Good Friday holiday and by participating in the competition students learn the important lessons on kite safety while having fun creating their artwork. On behalf of the staff at BELCO, congratulations to the winners!”
