Backyard Birds Commemorative Stamp

The Philatelic Bureau of the Bermuda Post Office is proud to present a new commemorative stamp issue, “ Backyard Birds”, release date of Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Today, nine songbird species live in backyards across the Bermuda archipelago.  Of these, seven were introduced by humans, while two species are indigenous to Bermuda, their North American ancestors having migrated to the island many years ago.  While our songbird community is small, our backyard birds nonetheless have big personalities, making them visually and acoustically conspicuous. Six of them are featured in this stamp issue.

The Bermuda Audubon Society and photographers Miguel Mejias and Richard Brewer provided information and photographs.

This is our second commemorative release for the Bermuda Post Office.  Prices are $ 4.35 for the set of stamps and $ 6.50 for the First Day Cover.  Orders may be pre-paid for collection or mailing on the day of issue at the Bermuda Post Office, Sub-post Offices or online at https://philatelic.bermudapost.bm/.
