The Somerset Cricket Club (SCC) family mourns the loss of a beloved member, Mr. Cordell “Herbie” Brangman, whose dedication and service have left an indelible mark on the club and its grounds.
For years, Herbie was synonymous with the upkeep and care of SCC’s cherished fields. His unwavering commitment, even as his health required him to scale back his involvement, was an inspiration.
Working under the guidance of his close friend Mr. Reid Jones, Herbie remained an integral part of the team, earning recognition as part of the Bermuda Cricket Board’s Grounds Staff of the Year for the 2024 Cricket Season.
Herbie’s contributions went far beyond field preparation. He was a dependable presence, always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him and witnessed his quiet yet impactful dedication to the club.
The officers and members of SCC extend heartfelt prayers and condolences to the Brangman and Swan families during this time of loss. May you find comfort and strength in the cherished memories of Herbie and in the knowledge that his legacy will endure.
With deepest sympathy, Richard A. Scott President, Somerset Cricket Club
