The Governor and Director of the Overseas Territories Directorate in the FCDO Learn of Bermuda’s Marine Conservation Effort

Recently, Mr Paul Candler, Director of the Overseas Territories Directorate in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), accompanied by the FCDO Desk Officer for Bermuda and Cayman Islands, Mr Sheak Hussain, visited Bermuda.

While on the island, they joined Her Excellency the Governor, Ms Rena Lalgie, the Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Walter Roban, JP, MP, and representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for a tour of the island’s waterways to learn first-hand about the ongoing effort to protect and conserve Bermuda’s marine environment.

Minister Roban said, “This was an excellent opportunity to showcase what the DENR, Bermuda Ocean Prosperity Programme, and other environmental groups across the island are doing to restore, preserve, and protect our environment for future generations.”
