9 Month Old Baby Not Allowed to Quarantine at Hotel with Mother

A situation at the L.F.Wade International Airport last evening has a woman, who wishes to remain anonymous’ furious as her daughter, her partner and her nine-month-old baby arrived on the island last night from the U.K.

Her daughter happens to be unvaccinated, but has a special exemption letter. Everything seemed to go smoothly, until her daughter called her from inside the terminal.

“ [My daughter] which is 19 years old told me that they stopped her and told her that she was not allowed to quarantine with her infant daughter at the hotel,” she said.

“ So, she went to the hotel with her partner and left the baby with me. Who separates a mother and her baby?”

She is very angry and irate at the entire situation and claims that her daughter followed all the required steps before arriving in Bermuda, only to have to quarantine for 14 days without her child.

“ Why even bring them to the island to do this to them? My daughter was crying, because they took her daughter from her,” she said. “ I was so vexed when they brought my granddaughter outside to me, and even the driver from the hotel said that was not the right thing to do.”

I’m looking to make contact with the Premier and his Health and National Security Minister so we can rectify this situation ASAP.

TNN await a response from the necessary Ministry regarding this matter.
