A 81 year old Sandys man appeared in Magistrates Court accused of assaulting two children more than 40 years ago.
The man who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with six counts of indecently assaulting a boy and girl, as well as committing a sexual offence against the boy, when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court last week.
The alleged offences were committed between 1977 and 1982, when the victims were under the age of 14.
The accused man was not required to enter plea to the indictable offenses as has case must be heard in the Supreme Court.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson sent the case to the August monthly arraignment session and released the man on $10,000 bail with a like surety until that time.
Magistrate Anderson also ordered bail conditions for the accused man, as he must attend Hamilton Police Station once a week and have no contact the victims or any prosecution witnesses.
