Appearing in Magistrates Court was 29 year old Tahva Virgil, of Horseshoe Road Southampton to answer charges of Importation of Drugs.
Virgil accused of (1) charged with on the 21st day if February 2022, Imported into Islands if Bermuda a controlled drug namely a quantity of Cannabis Resin.
(2) On the same day 21st of February 2022, in the Parish of St. George, had in his possession a controlled drug namely a quantity of Cannabis Resin, which was intended for supply in contravention of Section (5) of the misuse of Drugs Act 1972.
(3) Importation of cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol into the Island of Bermuda. It is believed this offense took place on February 21st,2022.
The fourth and final charged is, on February 21st, 2022 in the parish of St. George had in his possession a control drug, namely a quantity of a substance containing the cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol, which was intended for supply in contraception of Sectiin 5(1) of the misuse of Drugs Act 1972.
Virgil plead not guilty to all four charges, Magistrate Maxanne Anderson bail the accused to the sum of $25.000 and he is to report to Hamilton Police Station between the hours of 8am – 6pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. A Soical Inquiry Report was also order.
Tahva Virgil, is due back in court in June for mention.
