Speed trap exercise results in assult on policeman

On the 14th of July around 2pm, police were performing speed trap exercises with new recruits near the Horseshoe Bay beach in Southampton. A motorcycle rider heading west at a high speed went through the radar trap.

Police pursued the individual catching him outside of the Henry VIII restaurant. As police performed license checks, the individual argued with police and later pushing the officer down the embankment just outside the Hamilton Princess Beach Club drive way on southshore road Southampton.

The individual, who is well known to law enforcement, took the opportunity to flee on the motorcycle he was riding. A search for the individual around the Gibbs Hill lighthouse area was performed however officers were unsuccessful and the individual is yet to located.

As previously stated, the individual is well known to the police and an arrest is anticipated in the near future.
