100 Rowers take to the waters of Bermuda this Sunday

Over 100 local and visiting crew of pilot gig rowers will take to the waters of Bermuda for three days of racing on October 20th, 23rd, and 26th in the fourth international pilot gig regatta hosted by the Bermuda Pilot Gig Club (BPGC).

All racing events are free for spectators – catch the action by land or sea and cheer on our rowers who will be powering through the waves in traditional rowing boats rooted in Bermuda’s maritime history. 

This event has been made possible by our event sponsors: Bermuda Tourism Authority, Axis, Chubb, Paragon Brokers, Sticks and Stones, Bermuda Sports Lab, and Butterfield & Vallis, with added support from Belco.

The First Day of Racing is This Sunday

  • Sunday, October 20th – Men’s & Ladies’ Racing, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm, at Sandys Boat Club (SBC), Somerset Village. *Racing schedule will break for lunch. 

The Mangrove Bay Challenge will see 6 male crews & 10 female crews battling it out on the water off of Kings’ Point. Spectate from the Sandys Boat Club facility or bring your boat out to follow the races on the water.
