Woman pled guilty to six theft related offenses

Appearing in Magistrates Court yesterday was a 26 year old Southampton woman was charged with numerous theft related offenses.

Ceannda Barrington was charged with (1) attempting to dishonestly retain a wrongful credit knowing or believing that a wrongful credit of $309.90 would be made to an account kept by herself, on the 19th day of September 2023.

(2) On the 15th day of September 2023, she’s accused of stealing cash to the value of $246.95 belonging to the Phoenix Stores and

(3) stealing cash to the value of $29.95, belonging to the Phoenix Stores.

(4) On the 18th day of September 2023, she has been accused of stealing cash to the value of $193.30 belonging to the Phoenix Stores and

(5) stealing cash to the value of $160.90 belonging to the Phoenix Stores.

(6) On the 19th day of September 2023, she’s charged with stealing cash to the value of $451.80 belonging to the Phoenix Stores.

Ms Barrington pleded guilty to all six offences.

Taneka King for the DPP’s office recommended a social inquiry report (SIR) to be ordered.

Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson set a sentencing date scheduled be held on the 8th of August 2024.
