The City of Hamilton is delighted to announce that public voting is officially OPEN for the 2024 City Christmas Window Decorating Contest! This year, 24 businesses have entered the festive competition, vying for exciting prizes, including a donation from the City to a charity of the winner’s choice.
The contest celebrates creativity and holiday spirit, offering local shops the opportunity to enchant Hamilton with stunning Christmas window displays.
To cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award, either scan the barcode displayed in any participating store window or visit the City’s website to cast your vote online with just one click. Voting and judging will take place from Friday, December 6th through Monday, December 16th, 2024.

“We’re thrilled with the variety and creativity this year’s entries bring to the City,” said the City’s Senior Marketing CoordinatorSideya Dill. “The contest is all about spreading holiday cheer, fostering community spirit, and supporting Hamilton’s businesses during this important season. It’s wonderful to see participation from both long-time contenders and newcomers—with seven businesses making their debut this year!
“Beyond celebrating the artistry of these window displays, the competition contributes to our broader mission of driving local spending, attracting foot traffic, and boosting the economic vitality of businesses of all sizes. Every display is a testament to the creativity and community pride that make Hamilton shine during the holidays.”
Award Categories:
• Best Christmas Window 2024 (chosen by a panel of expert judges)
• People’s Choice Award (selected by the public via online voting or QR codes displayed in participating store windows)
Meet the Judging Panel:
• Mikaela Ian Pearman: Mikaela Ian Pearman is a writer, on-camera talent, public relations expert, podcast host and award-winning content creator. She began her career as a journalist in Bermuda where she fell in love with storytelling. Mikaela is the founder of Mikaela Ian PR and creates content around food, travel and pop culture.
• Tristan Narraway: Tristan is a visual artist with a lifelong passion for photography. After earning a Physics degree from the University of Kent, she returned home to work as a Data Analyst. Recently she has stepped away from the corporate world to focus on her creative passions. Tristan photographs local events, people, and places, blending artistry and emotion to authentically capture meaningful moments and human connections. Her work also extends into fine art, with her first big exhibit scheduled to debut in February 2025.
• Caterina Gosling: Caterina Gosling works for By Design Ltd / In Studio as a fabric consultant and coordinator of projects. Caterina has a background in hospitality and hashoned her interpersonal skills over the years and combined them with her passion for art and design. She enjoysdrawing and painting and would like to continue developing her knowledge within the design community.
• Alshante Foggo: Visual Artist and Designer Alshanté Foggo has been honoring her skills as an artist for the past decade. From a very young age, Alshanté was exposed to fine arts, particularly hand-painted designs, and has evolved her work into a multifaceted lifestyle brand. Alshante has created many murals around the island and has facilitatedart workshops for adults and children island-wide. When it comes to her artistry, Alshanté draws a lot of inspiration from the rich color palette of Bermuda. She loves creating bold, fun, youthful designs that reflect the island’s heritage.
• Rayven Walker: Rayven Walker is the newest member of SJD World, a graphic design company, joining as a ‘gatekeeper’ and web support. Rayven received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Marketing from Mount Saint Vincent University and has a passion for website design and programming. She specializes in offering clients top-tier website support and providing administrative assistance. Additionally, Rayven is also the founder of Isla Aroma Candle Company, where she creates high-quality, handcrafted candles.

Each participating business must display the official contest participation notice issued by the City of Hamilton in their window.
The winners will be announced on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 via social media and press release.
