In the heart of Bermuda’s historic Dockyard, just off the path to Fun Golf and nestled near the entrance of Snorkel Park, sits one of the island’s most creative attractions — Virtual Experience Bermuda, the brainchild of entrepreneur Hilton Brown.
Years ago, Brown asked himself a simple but powerful question: Why doesn’t Bermuda have helicopter tours? As a proud Bermudian with an eye for tourism and tech, he didn’t stop at the question — he built a solution.
“I thought, how can I simulate that experience?” Brown recalls. “So I got to work. I put up a building, filmed the island from above, and created an immersive, narrated 17-minute journey that gives people an unforgettable aerial overview of Bermuda — without ever leaving the ground.”
Virtual Experience Bermuda isn’t just a passive film, though. The attraction uses motion chairs and surround visuals to fully engage the senses, offering locals and tourists alike a dynamic, scenic ride through Bermuda’s most iconic sites — from the crystal coastlines to lush inland gems. It’s entertainment, it’s education, and it’s unlike anything else on the island.
But Brown didn’t stop there.
Outside the main building sits a custom trailer packed with over 60 different simulated experiences for children — from roller coasters to fantasy rides. It’s designed to give young visitors a thrill and keep them joyfully occupied while families explore.
And Virtual’s vision extends beyond the screen. The grounds are open and welcoming for night events, volleyball, badminton, and private parties, offering a rare blend of recreation and relaxation in one accessible spot.
“It’s just something else to do,” Brown says humbly. “We don’t have many places that offer this kind of fun and learning in one. And it’s right here. It’s ready.”
The Challenge? Visibility.
Despite its ingenuity, Brown admits Virtual Experience Bermuda hasn’t seen the traffic it deserves — especially from those who could help spotlight it.
“The concept is there. The quality is there. But we haven’t been marketed the way we should be. I’d love to see more support from those in tourism, education, and youth services.”
Brown sees real potential in summer camps, school groups, and local families. With pricing that’s affordable — $10 for kids’ ride sessions (three experiences included), $25 for the full simulated tour (with a senior discount at $20) — Vista View is as accessible as it is exciting.
