Video Circulating on Social Media Depicts Minors Engaged in Altercation

A video that has been circulating throughout social media during the weekend identifies two minors in an altercation.

TNN understands that one of the individuals attends a private school. The school has offered no comment on the incident at this time and said that it is currently under investigation by the Bermuda Police Service (BPS).

TNN understands a statement was sent to all parents of the private school

“ I need to inform you that we are aware of a disturbing and violent video being circulated on social media. The video took place inside a private residence on Saturday and involved two students who attend our school (one of whom recorded the event) and a student attending another school. Importantly, the Police were informed that evening and are investigating it.

As a school we make it very clear that we do not condone violence and will follow all advice given to us by the Bermuda Police Services. In addition, our counselling services have been activated to provide support where needed.

Until this has been fully investigated and resolved by the Police the student depicted in the video will not be attending school.

Many thanks to all concerned parents and members of the community who have reached out to us. Kind regards Principal

The BPS offered the following statement earlier this morning:

“ The video clip [in question] has been brought to the attention of the Bermuda Police Service.

We ask that, should you receive the clip to not share or forward it to anyone else and instead delete it from your phone or other electronic device.”
