Victoria Street Clinic Temporarily Shut Down due to Sewage Issue

A video circulating through social media depicting scenes of sewage going into the water tank at the Victoria Street health clinic has been going viral.

TNN spoke with the Minister of Health the Honorable Kim Wilson yesterday, and it was revealed that information about the incident had already been released into the public domain by her
office.

The latest video has prompted TNN to request an update from the minister and we await a response. However, the following statement was released earlier in the week:

“ The Hamilton Health Center on Victoria Street will be closed for the rest of the week due to plumbing issues in the adjacent building which has caused interruption to healthcare services.”
A Ministry of Health spokesperson said: “ Public Works personnel have been on-site today assessing the situation, which will require great repairs. It should be noted that the adjacent building where the incident occurred is not a government-owned property.

However, in the interest of time and to help resolve the issue, public works is on-site to support the Hamilton
Medical Center.”

“ The Department of Health apologizes for any inconvenience that this may have caused while repairs occur, and anyone needing immediate assistance can call 278-6460.”

TNN asks if the general public, who use the clinic for various health and dental needs, have been notified about the tank issue at the clinic. We also understand that the dental clinic uses the water from the tank in question.

TNN decided not to show the video circulating on social media it can be described as extremely graphic content.
