Units At Westgate On Lockdown After Another Possible COVID Outbreak

Word coming into TNN suggesting that there is another outbreak of the Coronavirus at the Westgate Correctional Facility.

TNN understands that two units at the facility; E2 AND E3, are currently on lockdown and that the E1 unit is an overflow unit being used for positive patients after coming out of segregation.

TNN has received further information from a reliable source that two individuals who refused to take a nasopharyngeal Coronavirus test have, after a month in segregation, are attempting to take an oral test so they can be released back into general population.

It is believed the two individuals are yet again being order back into segregated for another 14 days. Family members of these two inmates have voiced concerns for their love one’s health.

TNN further understands that administrative staff at the prison have been working in the kitchen facility to prepare, cook and serve meals.

The officer who is usually responsible for running the kitchen facility is currently out on quarantine, believed to have contracted the Coronavirus.

The inmates who usual work and prepare meals in the kitchen most of whom are in E2 unit are unable to do so due to those units of the prison being on lockdown.
