Two People Injured in Devonshire Shooting Incident

Just before midnight this morning, police received a call regarding gunshots at the Devonshire Recreation Club. According to Detective-Sergeant Jason Smith, two injured parties, one male and one female, were transported to KEMH and their injuries are considered non-life threatening at this time.

“ We can confirm that there was a crowd of 30 to 50 people at the club [when the shooting occurred] and we know that the two suspects were on a bike and that another bike may have also been involved,” Detective-Sergeant Smith said. “ We are now appealing to people in our community, particularly those who were at the club when the shooting occurred, to make contact with us so that we can bring some closure to the families and these two victims.”

BPS cannot confirm at this early point in the investigation if the incident was gang-related, but will update the public when more information is revealed.
