Two individuals were charged in Magistrates’ Court yesterday with firearm and drug possession offenses. Fifty-four-year-old Desiree O’Connor was charged with possession of a .45 caliber handgun and seven rounds of ammunition. She was also charged with possession of freebase cocaine with intent to supply.
Another individual thirty-nine-year-old Alvone Maybury, described as a neighbor, was also charged with possession of freebase cocaine with intent to supply. Both defendants live in Warwick parish.
As the charges are indictable offenses, neither was required to enter a plea. They are scheduled to appear in Supreme Court for the April 1 monthly arraignment. Until then, both have been remanded into custody.
