Two people charged with assault in Magistrates Court

Two people appeared in Magistrate’s Court yesterday in connection with an alleged assault in St. George Parish.

Eighteen-year-old Jaden Place faced two counts of assault on a police officer and unlawfully assaulting Brandon Thompson Parris and one count of violently resisting arrest. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Friday, October 17, 2025, in St. George Parish.

Place pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Also charged was twenty-six year old Delun Fishenden of Pembroke, charged with an alleged unlawfully assault on Brandi Parris.

Fishenden pleaded not guilty to the single count.

During yesterday’s hearing on October 21, Senior Magistrate’s Maxanne Anderson granted Place bail in the sum of $10,000 with a surety. She is scheduled to reappear in court on November 24.

Fishenden was bailed to the sum of $5000 dollars and a surety and he will return to court for mention on November 24.
